How is it posssible for Wendy's meat to never be frozen?

In reference to their "fresh never frozen" slogan. This seems like it would be pretty costly having a truck deliver fresh meat everyday to every restaurant , I also wonder if there is issues with bacteria growing on the meat if it's sitting in a fridge for 2 days. Any thoughts on this and is it believable marketing or are they lying?

I wonder that too.. .IT must be some sort of food industry magic.
Like the cheap meat @ Chinese grocery store butchers... Raw and Fresh on display for all. But really just thawed out frozen meat...
Or those beautiful meals @ chain restaurants. MY mind was blown when I discovered that most of it is pre-packaged in bags...

If the fresh patties/ground beef are packaged a certain way with the right storage temperatures they will stay fresh for more than 1-2 days.

Remember to be an RFD-er and NOT a degenerate.

Apparently the trucks deliver the meat every 2 days, seems like costs for that would be astronomical. I'm reading some pretty disturbing comments from former employees saying that the meat is only good for 24/48 hours and when it starts to go rancid they have to fry it and chop it up to put in the chili

The chili part sounds right. Heard about that before in a class about cost management. Secondary use vs garbage

I don't buy the chili part at all. That is too much authority and risk given to some butthead teenager to food poison their customers and potentially get into a lawsuit.

Assuming the Chili sells well enough, it may be one good way to fund the "fersh not frozen" meat.
Or, maybe they can freeze the chili, but not the "fresh" meat?
Maybe the unused meat is handed back to the delivery person to take back to a source that makes the chili?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

It's just marketing ploy. I'm sure it'd some legal loophole that let's thrm get away with it. Such is marketing in the modern times.

You heat something good enough it will kill the bacteria, and if someone gets bubble guts well, they would probably just chalk it up to the beans, chances of someone getting deathly ill would be so slim it's worth the risk. And many people who actually worked there said the same thing about the chili

The meat used for chilli would be cooked and then frozen, then reheated for when it needs to be used. AFAIK only the meat used for burgers is under Wendy's never frozen policy.

I ate wendys at least once a week in HS, it tastes awful and is expensive too.

"Fresh never frozen" doesn't mean fresh meat deliveries everyday. When you go grocery shopping, do you really think the meat on the counter is fresh and had just been butchered from an animal? Think about it. The supplier, let's say Maple Leaf, has to butcher the animal, store it, then ship it out to Loblaws warehouse. The warehouse then has to sort it out and ship it out to the various Loblaws supermarkets. Then it sits there in the cooler until the previous shipment is put out on the counter. Surely that ain't happening in one day, right? Will you still say the meat is "fresh"?

Well, it's the same thing at Wendy's. They don't need "fresh" deliveries everyday. The meat, as long as it is packaged and refrigerated properly, and with proper first in, first out practices can last for some time. The "fresh never frozen" slogan simply means the meat wasn't frozen.

A life spent making mistakes is not only more memorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.
